The Exterior Maintenance and Janitorial Attendant contributes to the cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of the outdoor areas of several neighbourhood shopping centres. The role includes a variety of tasks ranging from cleaning to light maintenance, under the supervision of the Supervisor - Maintenance and Repairs.
TASKS
- Pick up litter in parking lots, sidewalks, traffic lanes, loading docks, and waste enclosure areas.
- Clean landscaped areas and lawns around the buildings.
- Replace bags in outdoor garbage bins.
- Remove weeds from paved areas and walkways.
- Empty and clean ashtrays.
- Use a blower or vacuum to clean sidewalks.
- Reposition outdoor furniture (benches, garbage bins, ashtrays, bike racks).
- Inspect the condition of outdoor installations (signage, lighting, trees, asphalt) and report any issues.
- Clean and inspect vacant units, electrical rooms, and sprinkler rooms on a weekly basis.
- Perform snow removal in designated areas during the winter season.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in exterior maintenance or janitorial services.
- Good physical condition.
- Basic handyman skills for minor repairs.
- Attention to detail, efficiency, and ability to work quickly.
- Self-motivated and resourceful.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Professional and respectful attitude toward customers and tenants.
- Valid driver’s licence and driving record meeting SAAQ requirements.
- Occasional availability for emergency situations outside regular working hours.
